The Literature Fest

I don’t want to get into crowded buses I want to watch old dogs’ faces sleeping on the roads tonight I saw you celebrate you, your work, yourself… and call it literature. I took notes on my new notepad, with the pen that my father gave me when I went…

September is not the month I like 9 reminds me of endings Another year is breathing it’s last…

September is not the month I like 9 reminds me of endings. Another year is breathing it’s last September screams. The rains come sometimes they don’t September remains just so stoic and calm. It screams inside scrambling to put things to rest, rounding everything off just so. But we seldom know. After September comes October. The O reminds me of closures and endings too. Bloody hell! I am like that only, I don’t like September and October.

I live in a bushel where they cut trees All the birds they are a flying

I live in a bushel where they cut trees all the birds they are a flying no birds sing, nor do the crows argue squirrels don’t chase , sqeak, or monkeys play hide and seek. The warm shadows have vanished and the fierce Sun lays seize. My bushel is sanitized But not from the plague

I like broken but happy things

I like broken but happy things I have a chewed up pair of slippers. Who chewed them up? My puppies. They were clever at it. They would wait till i would fall sleep and then squirrel them away to their hideouts. Too many trips and my slippers were half their original size. I still wore them though because i was afraid my next pair would get the same treatment. My feet notice the difference after changing from one to another  . The brown bitten slippers are more comfortable to my toes and the red new ones are loved by my outstep.

Valentine’s day

Valentine’s day The pigeons living in available spaces in the building opposite mine are chattering too much today. I look up, angry. It is 14th feb...i mean the 14th feb, and no one has pinged me ,happy valentines day, yet. But it is now that i really i see these two winged creatures living amongst us. I dutifully put out food and water for them...but i have never 'wasted' time looking at them, observing the minutiae of their lives. I observe tgat one pigeon is grooming the smaller one , the female, and she is cooing luxuriously. He stops for a moment and the lady yells her head off. Her partner then resumes and the cooing, fluffing of wings and love bombing continues. I silently wish them valentines day and move back into my own life.
